Basic Rates

Shooting Video

We shoot using Canon XL2 cameras on mini DV disks.  Fees include complimentary transfer of rough (unedited) footage to DVD.
Single Camera – $75 / hour (minimum 2 hours)
Two Cameras – $125 / hour (minimum 2 hours)

Editing Video

We edit using Adobe Premiere, and can create DVDs, upload to YouTube, and a host of other applications.  Please contact us to discuss the best way to share your project.
Editing Digital Video – $45 / hour

Transfer to DVD

We can easily transfer VHS or mini DV to DVD.  Please contact us for other formats.
VHS tapes have a life span of 8-10 years, after which time they begin to degrade.  Preserve and protect family memories by having them tranferred to digital video!
Video transfer to DVD – $15 / hour

Memories Packages

Let us create a video commemorating a life, celebrating a milestone, or remembering days gone by with a Memories Video!  Provide us with your VHS, DVD, or mini DV footage and photographs (digital or film), and we’ll consult with you to create a video which celebrates the moment.  An excellent anniversary, graduation or wedding gift!  Please contact us to discuss rates.

Terms and Conditions of Booking

General Terms and Conditions

I agree to pay the outstanding balance in full within  14 days of the receiving the final product (unedited tapes or edited product). ‘Received’ may mean uploaded to a website or YouTube, delivered DVDs or other media, or a screening.  Payment may in any of the following format: cheque, bank draft, postal order or cash.

I agree to provide refreshments for videographers at the venue if the shoot is more than 4 hours long. A full sit-down meal with the guests at an event  is NOT required.

No travel charge applies for the following locations: Peterborough County. A travel charge of $50 per hour of driving . International locations will incur flight travel costs, accommodation and car hire.

I understand that the completed DVDs or other finished product will be ready approximately 6 weeks after the shoot. During busy periods, this may be longer.

I understand that the videographer retains total editorial and production control at all times. If I require any incidental editing changes, I understand that this will be charged for separately. Such requests must be notified to the videographer within 7 days from receipt of DVDs or other finished product.

I understand that in the unlikely event of any act that may cause loss or damage to audio or video footage, the videographer’s liability shall be limited to a return of all monies paid.

I understand that while every effort is made to ensure that the highest possible quality of audio and video footage is obtained, the videographer cannot be held responsible for poor acoustics and/or poor lighting conditions that are beyond their control.

I agree that the videographer reserves the right to cancel a booking at any time. If this unlikely event should occur, a full refund of all monies paid will be made.

In the event of a date reschedule, the videographer can only accept the new booking date if they have availability for that date. The booking fee for the original booking will only be returned if the videographer can secure a new booking for the original date.

I understand that the videographer cannot accept responsibility for items lost or damaged in the post.

I agree that all video and audio footage is the copyrighted property of the videographer. I agree not to make or allow unauthorised copies of the DVDs to be made.

Packages

I agree to pay a non-refundable booking fee of $400 to Candace Shaw to secure my booking.

While every effort is made by the videographer to film the event as completely as possible, I understand that this may not always be possible due to traffic, parking or other delays.

Specials Events Packages

Capture that special event – wedding, concert, family reunion – and share it with family and friends!

Basic – $750

Includes:
6 hours shooting time, one camera
Simple edit – highlights of the day as they happened (approximately 10 hours editing time)
2 copies of simple edit on DVD
Original mini DV tapes
Add a second camera operator, total package cost $950

Plus – $1200

Includes:
8 hours shooting time, one camera
Simple edit – highlights of the day as they happened
Sharing edit – 10-minute ‘mini documentary’ of the day, suitable to share online (approximately 20 hours of editing time total)
4 copies of simple edit and mini doc on DVD
Original mini DV tapes
Add a second camera, total package cost $1600

Full – $1800

Includes:
Unlimited hours shooting time, one camera (limited to 24-hour period)
Simple edit – highlights of the day as they happened
Sharing edit – 10-minute ‘mini documentary’ of the day, suitable to share online (approximately 20 hours of editing time total)
4 copies of simple edit and mini doc on DVD
Original mini DV tapes
Add a second camera, total package cost $2200
