I’m currently looking for work, so if you have some great, paying project or job you’d like to talk to me about, feel free to contact me.
About Candace
- I’ve been involved as a performer in theatre and film since I was 12. I was in an arts-focused high school program, and studied Theatre - Performance at college.
- I grew up in a family audio/visual business, and have worked as a freelance videographer and editor in digital video for 13 years.
- Myself and a crew of amazing badasses took on the challenging re-invention of the Peterborough Folk Festival in 2007, and have breathed new life into this 20-year-old community institution.
- I’m a contributer at rootsmusic.ca
- I’m the manager and sometime contributer of popcultureaddict.com ; we’re currently working on a massive site overhaul and update which should go live in early 2010.
- I’ve contributed writing, interviews, photographs and reviews to Tough Drum Magazine, The Jones Magazine, SNAP Peterborough, and various online magazines.
- I volunteer a lot; from coaching kids’ soccer in high school to sitting on the Peterborough City Council’s Arts, Culture and Heritage Advisory Committee for the past three years, I’ve volunteered for a huge number of organizations.
- I’m a compulsive early adopter; I like to get in as early as possible on just about everything. I belong to a lot of social networks, and update most on a regular basis, but I’m not terrifically excited about any one of them.
- I’m great with people, and thrive in environments where I can be on my feet, dealing with people most of the time.
I’m a generalist, but the things that most excite me are performance, film/television, new media, community building, graphic design, heritage buildings and architecture, archaeology, research, and photography. I love to read, to debate, and to find solutions. I invest a lot of myself in my work.
My interests include ancient history, literature, textile arts (embroidery, quilting, knitting, sewing, spinning), gardening, women’s health, women’s rights, and living simply.
I make things happen.
